Dordona Pass and Refuge

The CAI 202 path leads to the Dordona Pass, the crossroads of the two Valleys: Val Brembana and Valtellina. Via the old agricultural road, it reaches the pass of the Orobie Alps at 2.061 meters.
Immersed in a breathtaking landscape, with large pastures and views of the underlying Val Madre, you can admire the testimony of the First World War. The trenches commissioned by General Cadorna as a second line of defense are shelters dug into the rock, perfectly camouflaged with dry stone walls, using local stone. Demonstration of the tangible sign of our past, not to forget!
Lake Moro (2.2240m) and Lake of Trout (2.109m)

Reachable in summer by chairlift, it is a pleasant excursion along the old mule track among the green valleys of the Upper Brembana Valley.
The easy CAI 204 path leads to the shores of these enchanting bodies of water, allowing for a relaxing picnic break.

The Refuge located in the municipality of Branzi can be reached on foot from the Municipality of Carona, Branzi or Roncobello. It is one of the most popular and appreciated refuges in the Orobie Alps, immersed in a nature rich in flora and fauna and surrounded by numerous artificial lakes and majestic peaks.
Medium difficulty excursion, with a path in the fir forest, to continue along the lakes and green pastures.

Calvi Refuge - Carona

Starting from Carona, take the CAI path n. 210, reaching the small ancient village of Pagliari; from here starts the summer path to the refuge (n. 247).
The Refuge is located in one of the most beautiful hollows of the Orobic arch, which is the home of the highest elevations of the Brembana Valley: the Devil's peak is the maximum representation.
The very popular “stage of the Sentiero delle Orobie” refuge is the scene of the “Trofeo Parravicini” mountaineering competition for couples every year (April-May).
Once you reach the refuge, its cuisine will delight you with the typical dishes of Bergamo cuisine: steaming polenta accompanied with mushrooms, wild meats and local cheeses will make you live a unique and unforgettable experience!
Longo Refuge

Starting from Carona, path n. 224, along the dirt road, you reach the "Prato del Lago", a grassy clearing ideal for a refreshing break.
Leaving the lake, continue to the left for an uphill path, the view of the valley below leaves you speechless!
